A school is trusting us with its children’s records. Here is what we do with that.

Plain answers, in the same words as our Privacy Policy and Terms. No certifications are claimed here that we do not hold.

Where the data lives

One managed database, encrypted, backed up every night.

Records are stored in a managed, professionally secured database hosted in the European Union, encrypted at rest and in transit.
The platform is served over HTTPS everywhere; nothing travels unencrypted.
Encrypted backups run nightly and are stored separately from the live database.
Our hosting and database providers store and serve the platform under contracts that restrict them to doing exactly that.

Who can see what

Every school's records are isolated from every other school's.
Access is role-based: what an administrator, a bursar, a teacher, a gate officer or a parent can open is decided by their role.
A parent's access is limited to the children linked to them.
Payments, results, attendance, lesson notes and approvals keep a record of who did what.

Money

School fees paid online by parents go directly to the school's own bank account through the school's own Paystack account. SchoolNest never holds, routes, or deducts from school fees.
Card and bank details entered during online payment are handled by Paystack and are not stored by SchoolNest.
Receipts are numbered in sequence, so a removed receipt leaves a visible gap; cancelling a recorded payment can require an approval.

Ownership and leaving

A school can export its core records (students, fees, payments, results) to Excel at any time, without asking us first.
If a school stops using SchoolNest and asks us to delete its records, we do.
Personal data is processed under the Nigeria Data Protection Act; the legal basis for each kind of data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
