Terms of Service

SchoolNest is a school management platform for private schools in Nigeria, operated by a registered Nigerian company (RC 9651472). These terms are an agreement between SchoolNest and the school that subscribes. By using the platform, the school and the people it authorises (administrators, teachers, accountants, and parents) agree to them.

Student records, classes and subjects, attendance, score entry and report cards, fee invoicing and payment tracking, online fee payment, SMS messaging to parents, and a parent portal, all under the school's own name and logo on the school's own web address.

• New schools start with a 30-day trial with full access.
• After the trial, the school subscribes to a plan based on its student count. Current prices are on the pricing section of our site.
• Plans renew per term or per year as agreed with the school.
• If a subscription expires, staff access is restricted until renewal. The school's data is not deleted on expiry (see section 7).
• Prices for an active, paid period will not change mid-period. We give notice before any price change takes effect at renewal.

• School fees paid online by parents go directly to the school's own bank account through the school's own Paystack account. SchoolNest never holds, routes, or deducts from school fees.
• Card and bank details entered during online payment are handled by Paystack, not stored by SchoolNest.
• SMS messages are sent through the school's own SMS provider account (for example Termii). SMS unit costs are billed by that provider to the school directly.
• The SchoolNest subscription itself is the only payment owed to us.

• The school is responsible for the accuracy of the records it enters, including student details, scores, and fee amounts.
• Login details must be kept safe and only shared with the people they were issued to. The school should remove access for staff who leave.
• The school is the custodian of its students' information and is responsible for any parental consent required by law for the records it keeps and the messages it sends.
• The platform must not be used to send spam, harass anyone, or store unlawful content.

The school's data belongs to the school. SchoolNest does not sell school records, does not advertise to students or parents, and does not use school data for anything beyond operating the service. A school can download a full export of its data from its Settings page at any time.

A school can end its subscription at any time. A complete export of the school's records (students, results, fees, and payments) can be downloaded from the Settings page at any time, and we will assist with the export on request. Data from closed accounts is kept for 90 days in case the school returns or needs an export, then deleted. A school can also request earlier deletion in writing.

We protect the platform with role-based access, per-school data isolation, encrypted connections, and nightly encrypted backups. We work to keep the service available at all times, including results and fees periods, but no online service can promise zero interruptions. Where maintenance is planned, we schedule it outside school hours.

The platform supports the school's work but does not replace the school's own judgement or record-keeping duties. To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, our liability for any claim is limited to the subscription fees the school paid in the twelve months before the claim.

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell subscribed schools before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the platform after that date means the school accepts the update.
